Last June, I accompanied my sister to Pittsburg to attend the woodturning exhibition in which she was participating.  See https://blog.contentmentisforcows.com/?p=229

While there, I realized just how much art creators and collectors are all entwined together in their love and respect for a medium.

I met a collector who had purchased several of my sister’s creations over the years.  She pulled out her phone to show where she had one of my sister’s pieces displayed in her home.  It was on a shelf in her dining room, where she could look at it every morning with her coffee.  That struck me as an enormous compliment to my sister’s work.  (See Marilyn Campbell )

In every house there are enormous compliments being paid to the creators of favourite things just by their location… look around, who are you paying compliments to?

Over at the comics site of Contentment is for Cows, Chapter Five is about losing a piece of art, specifically, a woodturning.
