You Taught Yourself How to Draw??
Yes, I taught myself how to draw.
I had an idea to write a comic strip; no one else but me would be able to draw what was essentially in my head so the artist had to be me. I made the time and I committed to the process. Roughly, it took a couple of years before I could even begin to sketch out my comic scenes.
Contentment is for Cows is a sit-com on paper. I recommend new readers start at Chapter Four. The first three chapters are slow, over-lettered, and demand too much patience from a new reader. If you enjoy chapter four and the ensuing chapters, the first three will still be there.
If you are interested in learning to draw, Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is an invaluable resource. I did each and every exercise in that book. Some days I hated Betty Edwards and her damn book… but… I did learn to draw.
Enjoy!
