I used to be intimidated by the blank page.  I still am, but that moment of hesitation to begin is all mine.  The paper, thankfully, is ever patient.  With experience I have come to know that as I stare down that waiting blank space, I can trust that it will get filled in.  The characters will take shape, the background will become background –it will get finished into something I am willing to post and share.  Still feels like magic to me when I look at the finished page.

I have learned that the images I have in my head are never going to be recreated exactly as I imagined them.  The live product takes on a life of its own and there is no way around that.  Which, if you think about it, is the same with just about everything we create from birthday cakes to gardens, to business plans.

Under the heading of, “Its not bragging if it is true…” Can I say?  My artwork has improved immensely since I started this whole crazy project.  There.  Boasting is good for you.  Every once in a while.
