Stressless Moments
Deepak Chopra says there is no stress in the moment. According to Deepak, we feel stress when we feel threatened about our future, or are reliving anxieties from our past. But, in the moment, there is no stress. That is, if you are ‘present’ in the moment. Focussing on your breathing brings you to the present moment. If you feel stress again, it is because your mind has wandered to the past, or into the future.
Staying in the present moment has numerous advantages. A task that requires concentration demands ‘present moment’ thinking.
That routine drive home you don’t remember? Where was your mind? In the past or future.
Lost your balance during yoga class? Your mind wandered –into the past or into the future.
Simple lapses of memory? Where did your mind go for that moment?
The takeaway point I get from this is to stay in the present moment. An ongoing challenge to say the least.
As we all know, the mind has a mind of its own.
