Your Art or Your Birth Certificate?
The desire to create can strike at any age.
A person’s inclination to be creative is more likely to be inhibited by confidence, skills, or beliefs about what it means to be ‘creative’ than their age. Why would/should creativity be limited by their age?? Age has nothing to do with ability, talent, or interest. Years of practice and experience maybe, but age itself shouldn’t be the deciding factor to create or not to create.
As I mentioned last week in ‘Your Mortgage or Your Life’, the limiting factors for creative pursuits are often life’s circumstances. Most people had some activity that they enjoyed when they were young –music, sewing, knitting, art, what-have-you.
If a survey were to be conducted on recently retired people who have returned to their creative roots, I’m betting that the enjoyment of ‘making something’ is still there for them.

The wonderful thing about retirement is having time to pursue aspects of creativity whether it involves making things, learning things, or simply singing at the top of your lungs!
Yes! Of course! Thank you!
