Keith Richards says he is not a songwriter but an ‘antenna’.  As an example, the inspiration for ‘Gimme Shelter’ came as he was watching people run from a rain storm and he just happened to be contemplating the chaotic state of his life at the time.  He ‘received’ the song and wrote it down.  He says that is all anybody has to do –be willing, or open to receive inspiration.

I was inspired, in part, to write this comic strip by the 2008 recession.  I was reading about how families, cousins, and in-laws were forced to move in with each other as the housing losses piled up.  Who wouldn’t pause to consider how those circumstances would play out in their own lives?
