If you’ve been following the current chapter of Contentment is for Cows, you will recall that Brewster and Frey Shaw (Freakshow) spent an evening together in each other’s unlikely company.  My favourite line of dialogue in those scenes comes from Brewster to Frey, ““Nobody gets a free ride””.  In other words, there is no such thing as greener grass on the other side of the fence when you are comparing your situation/circumstances to someone else’s.  Sure on the outside, someone else life might appear to have been easy; they have the house, car, career, perfect kids (or what have you) but in reality, nobody gets a free ride.

Struggles of some nature exist in everyone’s life.  It is part of being human.  Not that a person can’t be happy –of course not.  It all boils down to appreciating the ride you are on…

Or to quote Yogi Berra, “If it were a perfect world, it wouldn’t be.”
