My Kind of War

Hans IslandThere seems to be a plethora of disheartening news lately.  Whatever your personal definition of ‘disheartening’ may be, I am sure you can think of several recent incidents you would consider ‘disheartening’.  Yes, it is important to stay on top of current events and develop an understanding of what is happening in the world, but a little bit of balance between heartening and disheartening is required, and basically, good for you.

So in the sprit of keeping my promise to make your  Sunday just that much more enjoyable, I will tell you about the dispute between Canada and Denmark.  Apparently, Canada and Denmark have had an ongoing, long term dispute over ownership of a tiny, barren, Arctic island named Hans Island.  The following is a direct quote from the Business Insider article;

Peter Takso Jensen, the Danish Ambassador to the US, has said that “when Danish military go there, they leave a bottle of schnapps. And when [Canadian] military forces come there, they leave a bottle of Canadian Club and a sign saying, ‘Welcome to Canada.'”

Now that is my kind of war.

A bit of war is staged in today’s post of Contentment is for Cows.  By far the best way to enjoy the comic and the blog is to sign up via email… and the best way to improve someone else’s Sunday is to forward this blog and encourage them to sign up too. Thank you in advance…

We have Facebook.  Twitter too.

Enjoy!
